| Mark Garland, Youth Pastor |
YP Mark Garland was born and raised in the midwest
suburbs around the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Mark was raised in a Christian home and has been in the Baptist faith
his entire life. Mark graduated from high school in 1987 and
went on to attend Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. During high school Mark received a lot of guidance and
instruction in the youth ministry from a youth pastor at the
church where he and his family attended in Waterloo, IL. Mark was a very active part of his youth group in high school.
Upon going into college, Mark felt God calling him into the ministry. While attending
college, God redirected Mark's studies from computers to youth ministries which has been a passion of Mark's since that time. Mark graduated from SBU in 1991 with a B.A.
in Religious Education in Youth Ministries and a minor in Church Recreation. Mark believes very strongly in God's Word and has a burden for young people who are fighting against
so much moral degradation. Mark has seen and strives to see many lives of students that are transformed by the
redeeming love and forgiveness of our Lord Jesus Christ. Mark
has served in two former churches out west and has witnessed how God has guided him to Brown Road Baptist Church to serve
and reach the people of Mesa. Mark looks forward to opportunities
to be with the youth group and loves to see those new faces coming to take a look at the group. Mark's goal is to train,
equip and lead students in a deeper walk with our Lord Jesus
Christ and continue to reach new students with the gospel. One message Mark hopes that the community understands would
be that Brown Road Baptist Youth Minisitries is here for ALL the teens in Mesa
and looks forward to many students calling our group their own. x x
